Over 100 children from all the kindergartens in Svoge took part in the puppet show at the Gradishte 1907 community center hall. They sang, danced and had fun with the puppet characters Hartoyad, Plastoyadka, and Stukloyad. Together they learned why it is important to collect separately and to do it every day so as to make possible the recycling of waste. All of the kids received as gifts coloring books and magnets with the characters from the puppet show.
The free puppet show “A Tale of Brave Little Empty-Bellied Heroes” in Svoge was the first of a series of performances as part of the spring tour of Fairy Tale Theater – Sofia, by initiative of Ecopack Bulgaria and in partnership with the municipalities of Botevgrad, Svoge, Tutrakan, Pleven, Pravets, Panagyurishte, Teteven, Peshtera, and Strelcha.
“I learned how much harm trash does to the Earth and how not to make it worse,” eagerly said five-year-old Borislava after the show. And Alexi, aged 6, recited: “Paper goes into the blue container, plastic and metal, into the yellow one, and glass – into the green one.”
The educational show tells the story of three little cute animal characters who live in the park and feed on different kinds of waste that people throw in the color-coded containers.
The puppet show has been touring the country for five consecutive years. Over this period, the actors from the Fairy Tale Theatre have taught over 6,000 children aged 4-8 about recycling.
The next performance of the puppet show “A Tale of Brave Little Empty-Bellied Heroes” is scheduled for May 16th, 2019, 10h30, at the Nikola Vaptsarov community center in the town of Tutrakan.
