Just one day after the celebration of Pleven City Day, the big stage in Vuzrazhdane Square came alive with singing, dancing, and the joyful clamor of children. Ecopack Bulgaria and Pleven Municipality organized an entertaining educational event for the local children. In the puppet show “A Tale of Brave Little Empty-Bellied Heroes”, the characters Hartoyad, Plastoyadka, and Stukloyad, who live in the park, taught the children from the Ralitsa, Zornitsa, and Shturets kindergartens why it is important to collect packaging waste separately, how necessary it is for more people to sort waste using the Ecopack Bulgaria color-coded containers, and how waste can be recycled and brought to new life in the form of various useful things.

All of the children sang and danced with the characters from the play, took part in a waste sorting competition, and in the end received gifts – coloring books and magnets with the puppet show characters.

The performance in the Pleven city square was part of the spring tour of Fairy Tale Theater – Sofia, by initiative of Ecopack Bulgaria and in partnership with the municipalities of Botevgrad, Svoge, Tutrakan, Pleven, Pravets, Panagyurishte, Teteven, Peshtera, and Strelcha. It is well-loved by children and the meeting with the characters from the park is eagerly awaited because, in a manner and language accessible to children, it raises the issue of each person’s responsibility for the protection of nature.

The educational puppet show “A Tale of Brave Little Empty-Bellied Heroes” has been touring Bulgarian cities for five consecutive years. Over this period, the actors from the Fairy Tale Theater have taught over 6,600 children aged 4-8 how to collect waste separately.

The next performance of the puppet show “A Tale of Brave Little Empty-Bellied Heroes” is scheduled for May 22, 2019, 10h30, in the schoolyard of Vasil Levski Elementary School and Aleko Konstantinov Foreign Language High School, Pravets.
