During the first term of the 2013/14 school year, “ECOPACK’s Flying Classroom” tour visited the municipalities of Panagyurishte, Pazardjik, Plovdiv, Razlog, and Razgrad and ended up back in the seaside capital – Varna. Over those 5 months, more than 18,000 children learned about the importance of separate collection and recycling of packaging waste. They had the opportunity to see the educational 3-D film and to test the knowledge gained in an enjoyable way through the interactive game “Become an Eco Superhero”. The high scores achieved by the children confirmed the effectiveness of the innovative teaching method which impressed educators and school directors.
After the session, as always, each ‘eco student’ received a package of acacia planting seeds and a unique code for registration on the Ecobus website - http://www.ecopack.bg/ecobus/.
All of the children who registered entered a sweepstakes for a photo camera and numerous consolation prizes. The first drawing of prizes for the current school year was held on November 11, 2013. The lucky winner of the big prize – a photo camera - was George Kratunov from Burgas.
Here is what a thrilled second-grader from ‘Stefan Karadja’ Secondary School in Varna shared with us: “It was really interesting! I want you to come to our school every day!”
