10.01.2014

The ECOPACK “Become an Eco Superhero” pilot project, implemented with the active support of Sofia Municipality, concluded on January 7th, 2014.

The initiative was implemented in the period 1 December 2013-6 January 2014 and covered students in grades 1 through 8 from 32 schools in four regions of the capital: Oborishte, Triaditsa, Sredets, and Krasno Selo. Its main objectives were as follows:

  • Improve the awareness and knowledge of children and their families of ways to preserve the environment, of separate waste collection and its benefits to society, and
  • Motivating families to collect waste separately and help form stable habits in this respect.

As part of the pilot project, 20,000 leaflets wereproduced and distributed, each including a club member card with a unique number. Using this number, the students, together with their parents, could register in a specially designed online quiz game and answer correctly 8 questions related to the conservation of the environment and separate waste collection. This entitled them to enter a sweepstakes with numerous prizes.

The prizes were drawn on January 7th by representatives of ECOPACK and DeConi Agency.

The initiative was joined by more than 3,000 children and parents, who answered correctly the questions in the interactive game.

The best score in the Become an Eco Superhero game was achieved by the students from “Tsar Ivan Asen II” 12th Secondary School and they won the big prize – a set of multimedia equipment.
