Since the beginning of 2015, the national tour of the ECOPACK 3D Ecobus has included stops in Peshtera, Batak, Bratsigovo, Montana, Vurshets, Vratsa, Mezdra, Krivodol, and Borovan. Thus, in 2015 alone, more than 4,200 preschool and school children in grades 1 through 4, had the opportunity to watch the educational 3D film and to test the knowledge gained in an enjoyable way through the interactive game Become an Eco Hero. As usual, after the session each ‘eco student’ received a package of acacia planting seeds and a unique code for registration on the Ecobus website - http://www.ecopack.bg/ecobus/. All of the children who register enter a sweepstakes for a tablet and numerous consolation prizes.
The innovative approach to teaching and learning about separate waste collection was enjoyed by children and educators alike. Here is some of the feedback from participating teachers:
“The short film shown to the children was very interesting. The children watched with wide eyes and really enjoyed the excellent advice. They eagerly answered the questions at the end. Wishing you a happy and successful year!’, M. Savova, P.R. Slaveykov Primary School, Peshtera
‘Great way to develop young schoolchildren’s eco knowledge and awareness. The non-traditional context, charming lecturer, and the engaging short film and game were interesting to the children and they enjoyed the eco lesson. We would like to thank you for this opportunity”, P. Spasova, Nikola Voyvodov School, Vratsa
“There should be more events of this kind! Both the short film and the game were of great interest and benefit for the children!”, J. Gotsova and B. Antonov, Ss Cyril and Methodius School, Montana.
