For yet another year ECOPACK continue to support the “Books for Trash” 2016 national campaign as key partners. The campaign starts on Saturday the 16th of April and will take place in front of the Monument to the Soviet Army between 10:00 and 13:00pm. Subsequently the campaign will also go on to the cities of Pleven, VelikoTarnovo and Burgas.
In order to take part in the “Books for Trash” 2016 campaign you will have to collect and submit 1 kilo of plastic waste. In return you will receive a coupon for a free book which you can use on the day of the event to choose among the handpicked titles. Anyone who submits 2 or more kilos will receive a second coupon. This is also the maximum number of books a participant can receive regardless of the amount of trash submitted.
This year only, three more classics, issued exclusively for “Books for Trash”, have been added to the selection of books. “Max and Moritz” by the German artist and poet Wilhelm Busch will feature in a never before seen edition with color illustrations, while Frances Burnett’s “The Secret Garden” will transport readers to a magical world of nature and wildlife. The 1898 science fiction novel “The War of the Worlds” by Herbert Wells, one of Le Monde’s 100 Books of the Century, will once again take its place among the campaigns’ selected titles.
For the purpose of collecting the plastic waste, ECOPACK Bulgaria will provide and place yellow containers in the chosen cities. The amassed waste will be additionally sorted according to the type of plastic and recycled, henceforth starting a new life.
Next weekend, on Saturday the 23rd of April, for a second consecutive year “Books for Trash” will go on to the city of Pleven and the “Ivan Radoev” Dramatic theatre.
On Sunday the 24th of April “Books for Trash” will once again take place in VelikoTarnovo, next to the Mall on 18 Oborishte Street.
On the 14th of May, Burgas, where last year a record amount of plastic waste was collected, will welcome “Books for Trash” in front of the Pantheon for the fourth consecutive year. In each city the campaign will take place between 10:00 and 13:00pm.
The campaign is organized by the Credo Bonum Foundation together with their partners from the Bulgarian American Credit Bank, ECOPACK Bulgaria and the Burgas, VelikoTarnovo and Kyustendil municipalities.
