The third edition of the school competition entitled “Become and Eco Hero: Teach Everyone at Home to Collect Waste Separately!” was launched today. It will be held in the municipalities of Shumen, Silistra, Dulovo in the period Feb. 16th-March 8th, 2015. In the city of Shumen, the campaign involves schools in the areas where the ECOPACK separate collection containers are located.
The competition is an enjoyable experience for the schoolchildren and their parents with benefits for society as a whole. The goals are to improve the awareness and knowledge of children and their families of ways to preserve the environment, to motivate families to use the color containers to collect waste separately, and to help form enduring habits in this respect.
Each student in grades 1 through 8 will receive a leaflet including a club member card with a unique number. Using this code, the students canregister to take part in a specially designed online quiz game and,together with their parents, answer questions related to the conservation of the environment.
Those who answer the questions correctly willenter a sweepstakes with great prizes– tablets and books for the students and 50 Leva gift vouchers from the Technopolis retail chain for the participating families. In each town, the school with the most numerous participants will receive a multi-media projector.
This is the latest awareness-raising and educational initiative of the packaging waste recovery organization ECOPACK Bulgaria to promote separate waste collection and environmental preservation, and to help keep the cities clean.
